Get it? August (the month) vs august (respected)? 😁 Also – LOOK WE RESURRECTED OUR MASCOT IZZY BARD the Bristol Pirate!! Doesn’t she look FANTASTIC! I might run a competition for her next month but for now WELCOME BACK! And thanks to Ed/Beatlinked for the gorgeous glow-up she got!

Back to the normal plan – Starbucks premeet, mosey over to Boardroom around midday, eat yummy market foods, drink pub beer/cider/J2O, watch colourful equines, play games and generally geek out!

BRING – Games*, plushies, swag and T-shirts**, water bottle, a bit of money for lunch etc and your lovely selves!

Please keep an eye on Severn Bronies’ Discord for any updates on the day, in case we have to move (or like last time, wait for Boardroom staff to break into their own pub! 😂)

TIMETABLE;

11am – Premeet at Starbucks Temple Quay

Midday – Head over to The Boardroom*** via the scenic harbourside/Castle Park route (or the direct route if raining or any goings-on) for the main geek-outery

5pm – Official meet ending time, but feel free to hang out later if there’s no boardroom bookings that evening, or if you want to go hang out elsewhere in groups

*Umbra will have Braggart, Unstable Unicorns, Horsecon and Buck Legacy as minimum, so no-one needs to bring more than a couple each, but the sky’s the limit (even if she can’t join us this time 😉)

**Given recent events, if there are any riots or civil unrest planned a) please check the website and discord for updates, and b) please consider being discrete in displaying your fandom openly as we know what these nutters can be like

By train

The nearest railway station is Bristol Temple Meads (approx. 440 feet away).

Upon arriving at Temple Meads, continue straight ahead after exiting the ticket barrier and leave via the side entrance into the Temple Meads car park. The Starbucks is located in a row of shops on the other side of the car park.

By bus

Most local buses will stop in proximity to Bristol Temple Meads. Use the First Bus website to find the best route for you.

Bristol Bus and Coach Station is 0.9 miles away. If opting not to walk, go to the bus stop on Nelson Street (B3), and from there catch the number 8 bus to Bristol Temple Meads (5 stops).

By car

The nearest parking is at Bristol Temple Meads, which has both indoor and outdoor parking spaces available at different day rates, and free parking for motorcycles.

Also nearby are the council-operated Temple Gate car park (0.3 miles away) and the Bristol First Hotel car park (0.2 miles away), the latter of which has a four hour maximum stay.

Bristol Temple Meads railway station has free short stay parking for up to 20 minutes—which may be useful for quick drop offs or pick ups—located at the front of the station.

By bike

A large amount of on-street cycle parking is located directly outside of the Starbucks. Sheltered (but not enclosed) bicycle parking is present nearby towards Temple Meads.

Wheelchairs

We typically meet in the upstairs area of this Starbucks, which is not wheelchair accessible. If you use a wheelchair and plan to attend, please give us a heads up and we’ll aim to congregate downstairs instead.

The entrance doors to this Starbucks are a split design and may be difficult to operate from a wheelchair. There is a call button on the outside of the door for those requiring assistance.

By train

The nearest railway station is Bristol Temple Meads (0.7 miles away).

By bus

The Boardroom is located in central Bristol, with numerous routes passing nearby on nearby Victoria Street and Union Street. Use the First Bus website to find the best route for you.

By car

Be aware that The Boardroom is located in Bristol’s Old City, large areas of which have recently been pedestrianised and closed to general traffic. Plan your journey ahead of time to ensure that you don’t get stuck or fined for entering a vehicle-restricted zone.

The nearest car park is the NCP Bristol Queen Charlotte Street (approx. 450 feet away), followed by NCP Bristol Nelson Street (0.3 miles away).

Blue Badge holders may park in any on-street parking in the area for an unlimited time and free of charge.

Free motorcycle parking is available on St Nicholas Street and on the corner of Baldwin Street and Queen Charlotte Street (approx. 300 feet away).

By bike

Bicycle parking is available on St Nicholas Street a few doors down from The Boardroom, and on the corner of Baldwin Street and Queen Charlotte Street (approx. 300 feet away).

Wheelchairs

The Boardroom’s function room is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. The Boardroom also does not have wheelchair accessible toilets in any part of the venue.
