We have moved this month’s meet because 6 nations is on the go so we have picked 28 February as it is the rest weekend with NO rugby to be all noisy, so perfect for our meet both for the peace and the availability of venue.

ON WHICH NOTE, we (by which I mean my ever helpful partner and secretary Wax!) have booked the Stag & Hounds for this month’s meet after last month’s revelations and recommendations. As we are testing a new venue please let us know what you think, and in case it’s unsuitable we’re always able to go for a wander through town or even head to Birkett Tap as backup as always, but fingers (sorry hooves!) crossed this will work out well!

This will also roll on to March, as Festival of Friendship is on our usual March weekend so we plan to have the next meet on 28 March at Stag & Hounds also, just to give you advanced warning! But we should be back to our usual “third saturday of the month” for April (watch this space)

FOR FEBRUARY – bring the usual plushies, pony shirts, swag, games and fun paraphernalia. We hope to have access to a screen as well so I’ll bring pony episodes and I’ll have a jackbox option, but as we know my tech isn’t always the most reliable so feel free to bring backup!

Midday(ish) to 5pm hang out at the pub, eat, drink, game, watch and so on

As always we may move on to town at the discretion of whoever feels like it, but if we’re comfy I’m hoping we might be able to stay a bit longer this time!

By train

The nearest railway station is Bristol Temple Meads (approx. 440 feet away).

Upon arriving at Temple Meads, continue straight ahead after exiting the ticket barrier and leave via the side entrance into the Temple Meads car park. The Starbucks is located in a row of shops on the other side of the car park.

By bus

Most local buses will stop in proximity to Bristol Temple Meads. Use the First Bus website to find the best route for you.

Bristol Bus and Coach Station is 0.9 miles away. If opting not to walk, go to the bus stop on Nelson Street (B3), and from there catch the number 8 bus to Bristol Temple Meads (5 stops).

By car

The nearest parking is at Bristol Temple Meads, which has both indoor and outdoor parking spaces available at different day rates, and free parking for motorcycles.

Also nearby are the council-operated Temple Gate car park (0.3 miles away) and the Bristol First Hotel car park (0.2 miles away), the latter of which has a four hour maximum stay.

Bristol Temple Meads railway station has free short stay parking for up to 20 minutes—which may be useful for quick drop offs or pick ups—located at the front of the station.

By bike

A large amount of on-street cycle parking is located directly outside of the Starbucks. Sheltered (but not enclosed) bicycle parking is present nearby towards Temple Meads.

Wheelchairs

We typically meet in the upstairs area of this Starbucks, which is not wheelchair accessible. If you use a wheelchair and plan to attend, please give us a heads up and we’ll aim to congregate downstairs instead.

The entrance doors to this Starbucks are a split design and may be difficult to operate from a wheelchair. There is a call button on the outside of the door for those requiring assistance.
